Bunch of envious double crossers

Honestly these characters are pissing me off. There’s a bunch of cheating and zero self awareness and a lot of self-indulgent misery and it’s annoying me. Gonna put this one on pause until I feel like pushing through the last 30% or whatever of this book

This book can be a bit preachy at times because it does rely more heavily on telling vs showing. Also the passage of time is weird and unclear? Other than those two main points, I do find the book oddly cozy

DNF - this feels choppy with random, spur of the moment details thrown in and it’s not for me

Tbh this book is boring me but I’m so far into it that I’m determined to finish it

This book is so Black Mirror-y with some interesting speculations surrounding AI and personal data

This concept is so interesting. I’m curious to see if it’s only women subjected to this system

This book has me cracking up. Also the vibes are somewhere between Coco and a murder mystery? This would be cute to read around Halloween

I’m loving the spooky vibes of this book. YA paranormal books feel so nostalgic for some reason

These characters and their selfishness, their failure to launch, their lack of self awareness - it’s kind of a masochistic read this point. It takes a good writer to create characters that you can’t stand who keep making bad decision after bad decision after bad decision. I’m curious to see what kind of character arc we have going on here

I’m enjoying the dark, dry humor worked into the prose. It’s self-deprecating, sometimes to the point of discomfort (which is kind of the point, I think), and sometimes just because it’s funny
