So you’re telling me that he’s using the apartment his mistress is paying for to have intimate time with her to cheat and be with a third woman when he already has a wife just to climb a bloody social ladder?

What do you mean that you decide to marry a woman whilst you’re having an affair and your fiancé knows about her and she JUST lost her husband who was HIS CLOSE FRIEND?!!!

This is one of my obligatory reads for school, but I’m enjoying it SO MUCHHHHH. George’s Duroy (the main character) is such an anti hero tho and such a Jeremiah Fisher

It’s currently 2AM and I’m sitting in the living room of our family home on Penang Island, Malaysia. The story is fictional, but there are so many references to different places that I have spent a lot of time at like the Penang Swimming Club. I love how the story is told retrospectively and the language use is amazing. What an amazing summer holiday read ❤️❤️❤️

So entertaining, funny, nice to read, even though I could never see myself ever being her or have her lifestyle

Such a comforting read and very entertaining. Young Dolly Alderton actually reminds me of a friend of mine who lives in London

I’m actually sobbing. Why did nobody tell me about this. WHY IS MARX DEAD. THIS WAS NOT MEANT TO BE. The entire part of this book holds award winning storytelling. It is shocking. I did not expect it. Marx, the man who has always been kind to everybody, to Sam, to Sadie. He was supposed to become a father.

Anna’s death was so tragic, so sudden 😭😭😭😭😭🥹🥹🥹🥹

I honestly hold the characters so close to heart ❤️❤️, the story is so easily consumable and there is a lot of depth in the words and characters

The characters, the storyline and the storytelling is just wow 🤩

It’s like entering into an entire world, full of interesting stories 📖☕️🎀
