Jamie Bartley is on page 105 of 304 of The Deading
Nicholas Belardes dives deeply into the minds of his main characters, sometimes too deeply, pushing readers out of the narrative and away from the story with its arduous focus on details. Pages and pages of Bas’ birdwatching, along with lengthy and wordy descriptions of locations in Morro Bay and Montana de Oro State Park, make getting to the horror bits of the novel less exciting than they should be.

Jamie Bartley is on page 14 of 238 of In the Beginning: Genesis 1-11
Janice Bobanis draws readers deeper into the Word of the Lord by encouraging readers to directly apply scripture passages to answer questions that touch on modern day subjects like gender identity and gender roles. With each lesson read, new connections between the Word of the Lord and modern day applications of the Word are made. As I read and study, I am making new conclusions about the Word and growing in joy.

I love the description of the little creature, Chippa. I am getting an 80’s vibe (like that of Gizmo or an ewok) from its mannerisms and looks, and so I’m loving that so far.
