She’s bisexual!!! Let’s go!! My sexuality has representation in a book!
(I honestly loved reading that part so so much! I’ve read MxM and FxF and MxF stuff but also seeing a bisexual side to narrative is SO NICE!! I want to find more of this kind of thing in writing.)

My first instinct for this book is on why Evelyn Hugo chose Monica and something tells me that they are related somehow.

I’ve been laughing while reading this so far. The author definitely knows what she’s doing!

Okay; so Lady Hardcastle killed Thomas and framed Carver. Michael was in on Evelyn’s murder but WAS trying to get her away. SOMEONE is murdering all of the Hardcastles but we still don’t know who. Is Anna bad? Daniel and the footman are working together but is Anna also working with them?

So is the assumption that it is Helena who told someone to murder BOTH of her kids? Is Anna working with the footman? WHO is the footman? Do Anna or the footman move to other bodies as well? I don’t feel like Aiden is going to be going into Daniel’s body; I feel like he’s the footman, or some secret fourth person (maybe the Plague Doctor for real).

I am sadly missing so much of the chatter when reading this book. I feel like I’m missing what’s being said while actively reading this. I’m trying not to go back to understand but hoping it’s better explained in the future.

I want to keep reading this but I fear my mind is not ready for it. A lot of things seem to be going over my head that I do not understand. I pick up some pieces but the next thing happens and I take a step back.
Daniel is Aiden’s last host? Who is Anna really? Is the Plague Doctor an ethereal being or a person?

I’m trying to get back into this to give it the rest of a chance it deserves. At the very least, the last page i read answers two questions i had.

Part one completed. Lots of build up, descriptions, getting an idea of who Theo is. We’re introduced to his coworkers, his wife, and Alicia (who doesn’t mind seeing him for therapy). Otherwise, rather bland and boring start.
