OF COURSE the mysterious man with all the same powers/features as her is Diems father!! and of course she is the heir of all realms because she’s already crown of 3…and of course her dad isn’t dead like the author is making all these points for “plot twists” except they’re the most obvious things ever. ending a chapter with a revelation that was obvious 5 chapters ago makes this such a hard read

i have to finish this to see how it ends but Diem’s immaturity is actually driving me crazy. Things in the story that are so blatantly obvious she doesn’t realize, the things she says are so childish, even the writing of Luther’s character at times is so cringe. I’m intrigued by the plot of course but these characters are making me lose interest (especially Diem)

Diem’s immaturity is really starting to get to me. I’m struggling in wanting to pick up the book only because of that and also the writing feeling cringey to me a lot of the time. But I will say the story itself is so good and intriguing that once i get into it i’m locked on it until i put it down. it’s very much of a love hate relationship for me atm but i’m pushing through!

so they keep talking about how this war has begun and like yeah sorta with the guardians planning all these attacks on the descended but coming from TOG the definitions of war between these two series are most definitely not the same lol. feeling: entertained and intrigued while simultaneously underwhelmed

i’m not gonna lie Luther not having anything thoughts or opinions other than to be super protective of Diem is getting old…it’s like his whole plot is to be obsessed with her which like yeah I can get behind but when the only time he speaks it’s about either protecting her or serving her I get sick of it! Like have some original thoughts please.

i’m so confused about everyone’s intentions right now. Diem wants to protect the mortals but she’s blowing up bombs close to their camps to rescue luther? Cordelia is a leader of the guardians and is fighting for the mortals but she lets Diem go? there’s so much going on

People always said Diem was insufferable and I never really understood why until now…I do think that her actions align well with her character, however it’s so frustrating to see her turn on Luther and Alixe and even her father a few chapters ago when it is so obvious all they are trying to do is help. It aligns with what she is going through that she acts this way buuut it’s still so frustrating to see
