Love the world building

The way Boris talks reminds me of Heated Rivalry lol but alas I’m sensing a different vibe for the ending

So good that it’s preventing me from reading the last 10 pages of another book

The theme work in this book is so impressive. Obviously the setting is consistent across stories but the way the author connects each story back to a consistent theme at the end always floors me.

Did not expect such an interesting take on Zionism from this book

So many twists! So dramatic! Loving it!

This part of history is new to me so I’m enjoying learning about it

It took some patience to get to the really good part of this book but omg it’s so worth it

Childhood was kinda boring and superfluous, but I really liked Youth because I started to understand her motivation and enjoy watching her character development. What I’m wondering now is if that understanding comes from the fact that I already read Childhood or from the fact that in Youth she interacts with the outside world for the first time.

I ask you Plato: how do we reconcile the social promise of capitalism and justice? Does this imply that the American ideal is unjust? Is it morally wrong for a parent to strive for a child to want more than they themselves have? Is this why American society is riddled with injustice?

Would be so much more interesting if the book more than superficially addressed the quote posted before this. Kinda interesting to learn about how the literary industry works

“Who has the right to write about suffering?”

The writing is so surface level that it’s annoying but I’m willing to keep giving it a chance.

Finished Novel VI: it was really interesting read someone else’s perspective on personal and academic pursuits that I’ve also taken lately, but that’s just by pure coincidence

This is my first time doing a deep dive into the topic of Katrina. If you want a book to remind you about how much the government sucks, give this one a read!

Finished Novel V: the meeting between Asle and Ales was so disappointing, I was expecting a much greater love story. I also feel like we’re gearing up for a sad ending
