Been so excited to read this translation by Emily Wilson (the first published English translation by a woman!) and I finally found it at the Piccadilly Waterstones 🤭🎊

First night! Reading this translation (Ronald Meyer's) alongside Project Gutenberg's (Constance Garnett) has been so rewarding. Garnett's the chosen vocabulary is more complex, but the text also very nuanced. So far I'd recommend reading both- Meyer provides an accessible, enjoyable entry to Dostoevsky while Garnett navigates and translates the vivid, ardent feelings.
