still dark! I think All The Sinners Bleed is also dark, but it is from the perspective of a sheriff coming across a crime after the fact, compared to this book where you are reading the main character actively getting his teeth knocked out

Another great audiobook narrator!

So far, it’s a buy. Nails the voice of a 20yr old

I’m sorry, but if you’re a doctor with multiple popular murder mystery books, how do you have murderers who don’t know that hot water sets stains? Or a doctor who willingly handles someone else’s blood without gloves?
Also, I want to shake the main character and give her a basic course on feminism.

I have a new goal to read more of this genre, so I can recommend other books to people reading this. If I am taking a page out of Jesse’s book, the phrase “hot garbage” comes to mind

These later books have been taking me a second to ease into the premise (they are not slow or boring—just adjusting from the immersion of the previous book), but once I’m in I don’t want to do anything but keep reading

I figured out it’s reminding me of the Coen Brothers and George Clooney because it is a lot like O Brother Where Art Thou, just to the left. I really am liking it
