I’m convinced this author hates women

This honestly just makes me sad. Not because of the storyline, but because I can feel the author’s clear resentment toward motherhood. I’m really wondering if Caro Claire Bourke is a mother herself, or if she’s simply acting as a vessel to represent society’s (or feminist) perception of motherhood?

Cautiously optimistic, but feeling trepidation about this one. As someone who recognizes how nauseating online trad wives are, I DO also sympathize with the merit of wanting to oppose more conventional (Americanized) methods of child rearing. I’m hoping that aim isn’t to make a mockery of women that choose homemaking with the intention of good parenting. Okay. End of Ted Talk.

This book is clever. Really enjoying how the characters and separate short stories intersect and illustrate the spectrum of dejection.

I’m just so bored 😴

Update: Even more injuries and even more miraculous recoveries.

You’d think a survivalist family that doesn’t believe in modern medicine or contemporary lifestyle would be more cautious? Recurring accidents/injuries, and numerous recoveries from probable life-threatening wounds.
Not sure I want to finish this one.

At first I found the protagonist unlikable, but as the chapters unraveled I’m realizing (with dismay) that’s she’s much more relatable and than I’d like to acknowledge 😅

Found myself avoiding this book. Just felt like a bunch of catty women gossiping and melodrama. I’d like to finish this one day, but Idk.

Might have to revisit Track 15
