" She is a library of our mothers."

"I'd rather burn the library than build it on bodies."

Another metal line. Grady is really hitting it out of the park on this chapter

"After everything she'd been through, After she created life, After they had taken away her child, did they really think she was scared of something as small as their God?"

This line is so good and so freaking metal

You can die that way

Not good

The true monster appears. I hope he dies horribly. I hope every person like him dies in the worst ways possible, not just in books, but in the real world too. I wish them nothing but pain and suffering

I love how he describes her snore as "So loud she sounded like a chainsaw swinging on a rope". It's great imagery

Time to get Hagar

Ah, yes. Angering and disrespecting a powerful witch and her coven. What could possibly go wrong? Surely there will be no repercussions, especially to a pregnant girl

Out of the frying pan and into the fire

That actually made me feel a bit nauseous

" you know why they say all this?"
" Because you're witches?" Fern asked
"Because we're women" Periwinkle said

I really love this interaction because it feels so true.

Respectfully, how do you know what your dad does in the bath? Were you spying on him?

Out of the frying pan, into the fire, it seems

This fills me with such dread

Talk about gut punch after gut punch. Damn

" we're going to just run you over [to the hospital] and give you a little shot of something that'll make the baby come a little earlier. It's all perfectly safe. There's absolutely nothing to worry about"

Oh, hell no! That sounds terrible and dangerous to both mother and baby

Sorry to tell you, but it's too late to back out now. You went through the whole binding ritual, including cutting your finger on the blade and pressing your blood to the page

I'm worried she may have just wished for her friend to die without meaning to. Words and phrases have power, especially when it comes to magic

This makes me feel genuinely sick and want to cry.

Well that's one heck of a doozy of a plot twist

That's so vile, but i couldn't help but laugh a little at the fire hose imaginary
