Currently on chapter 5 and I’m just… not feeling it? It’s not reading like all of CP Harris’s other books. And the fact that Ryan isn’t in therapy at all and just in William’s house (who isn’t even close to being a mental health or trauma specialist) is concerning me. I’m trying to suspend my disbelief but I’m finding it hard considering the subject matter.

“How could I have been a heartbeat away from ripping off my clothes to get closer to someone I don’t like and even worse - CANT FULLY TRUST?”

Violet what more does Xaden have to do to show that you can trust him?! He didn’t rape you, he killed 7 people to save you from being killed, he taught you to shield/ground, and he’s got eyes on you so you’re protected. Damn woman he’s trustworthy!!!!!

“You have incredibly touchable skin.”

…what? Is this seriously a line I just read? Isn’t all skin touchable? Who even talks like this? And it’s supposed to be a compliment? What on earth….?

Listening to the audiobook for the first time. I absolutely love this series.

Alright I still feel divergent/hunger games vibes but I’m actually starting to kinda enjoy this book. I liked that Xaden was “teaching” her. While I liked the use of poisons in the end she can’t use that against enemy forces if she does make it out of this college alive.

I really liked the use of the poisons to help defeat her opponents. Clever and enjoyable to see her actually taking things seriously.

Anyone else annoyed that Violet keeps getting distracted by Dain’s attractiveness when she needs to be worried about NOT DYING?! Like girl, keep your priorities straight.

Doing a buddy read with my husband and all we are doing so far is making fun of the book. Why is this so over hyped? Are we missing something? Really hoping it gets better soon…

So far this book seems pretty predictable. The headings of the chapters really give a lot away which is a shame to me. It’s so obvious what dragon will choose Violet. And it’s almost a copy of Divergent so far, just a little more adult. Hope that it starts to become more original soon. 3 chapters done and so far just 3 stars in my opinion.

Dain is a leader of second wing. Guessing Xaden is leader of fourth wing? Lol a little obvious if so

Alright I need this Jack guy to die. Only a couple pages in and I absolutely hate him

Oh my god! Yeah he needs to be eaten by a dragon or something…

There is so much Divergent/Dauntless energy in this book right now lol
