A marvellous love letter to Montreal. No one has mastered whimsical writing quite like O’Neill.

I couldn’t acclimate to the writing style, which took away from the reading experience for me. Possibly more palatable on audiobook? A heart-wrencher all the same.

Oh baby I love me some short chapters.

Really disliking this Dublin Prize winner. It is undoubtedly well-written, but every character is soulless and I have no one to root for. I’m struggling… wish me luck!

Book club pick for August.

Not a good time to pick up a Munro. Her work feels shrouded by the horrible truths that have surfaced of late, though she is undeniably incomparable in her ability. Working through the NYT Best Books of the 21st CE- this book is on the list and I happened to own it already. Turns out that I am unable to successfully separate the art from the artist… I’m truly devastated because I’ve always loved her so.

Book club book… hopefully will be better than expected!
