Audiobook - chapter 8/28, much faster paced than the LBJ series whilst retaining the insightful level of detail necessary to fully understand and appreciate such a complex individual.

A book to really make you feel like you’re deep in a mine, in need of a Marxist revolution. Difficult read so progress has been slower than I’d like.

Audiobook - 5/30 chapters in, a figure I’ve always felt I do not know enough about. So far the balance between personal intrigue and political brilliance has been a real treat(Napoleon and Josephine’s correspondence especially!). Keen to progress through this one quickly.

Audiobook form - the first in the series has been the finest example of political biography I’ve encountered, so I’m taking my time to savour the whole series.

Audiobook form - political bits(Suez) are thoroughly entertaining, mundane chapters on the availability of TV’s in the 50’s, not so much. Likely to DNF.

Brutally vivid, but I do feel I’m spinning my wheels - as much sympathy as I have for the Native Americans’ plight, it’s hard not to become desensitised to the constant violence and wrongdoing beset upon them. Perhaps that’s the intention, but for now it’s struggling to keep my interest. Will finish eventually.

10 chapters in(out of 150!), I was reading on an iPad which didn’t feel fitting for such an epic. Kindly received a lovely hardback edition and will resume reading in earnest shortly.
