Never in my life did I think I’d hear “tig ol biddies” used unironically in a book. The writing is wildddd! Every sentence has 17 adjectives or metaphors. The audiobook is also hilarious “her delicious ass *pause* tiddies” I’m actually enjoying myself though

THIS BOOOOOK! It’s really interesting reading this as someone who’s still very much on my journey with CPTSD. I’ve gotten past a lot but I’m still in the weeds for now. Reading about someone who’s gone through it too is so interesting. I’ve been laughing so much less from humour and more from lmao me too

The modern Australian retelling of this tail means everything to me. So visceral. I could smell, taste, feel everything in this one. I am disgusted and angry but I think that’s the point. Very well written! It’s hard to take an old myth and blend it with modernity so well.

This was funny. Interestingly enough I’ve been in the same position as Eurydice in that tent and I agree with all her choices moving forward. I would have (and somewhat have) done the same thing 🙂‍↕️

Icarus and Apollo, I’m less convinced on this story. Of their love I mean. But maybe that’s the point. Are gods really capable of such love for humans? Apollo has never been one to give up anything to save another. I still really liked it, the infatuation of Icarus. Just think Apollo saying boy after every line was a bit in your face.

I’m trying so hard to enjoy this but this book is very clearly suffering from a case of SHES NOT FAT! SHES NOT FAT GUYS SHES JUST CURVY! BIG TITS. BIG ASS. ONLY!!!!! And it’s driving me insane… hate when authors project too much of their own view of the characters into books…. Or potentially their own insecurities of not wanting to write a character who could be even interpreted as plus sized 💀

Astrid, Isabel, iris, all of these names are interchangeable in audiobook form I’m struggling lol
