This is my first time enjoying the book through an official audiobook. My memory is a little bit spotty with the time I bounce back-and-forth between the book and general life things but I dig the plot of Evan’s mother, Evan’s orphan friend, and Joey possibly having a boyfriend?

I need more prison X

Chpt 42 was prolly my fav, the emotional beats between him and Joey, the brief backstory of Evan’s origins, and bro trying to get arrested by a nice cop, and oh yeah, prison????? Dude finally I been wanting to get into some good prison territory for a while, can’t wait to see how this shakes out.

I like the Mia getting ticked at Evan dynamic. Like a more romantic version of Jim Gordon trying to do his job with Batman doing it better than he could. Also, I’m curious if Mia is jealous at how Evan is more direct/gets more results/plays without rules in the crime game. So far a breath of fresh air from his recent mission of killing the president

Why I’m vibing with this book rn: A dog named dog (please don’t leave the narrative any time soon, Dog) paired with Joey, Trevon is back in the mix (and dating??), Ida storyline is still continuing. Fav quote rn: “Are you gonna be here long? ’Cuz small talk gives me a headache and I’m supposed to shower.” - Trevon.

Joeys back! Also a lil sad Candy doesn’t seem to be in this book, hope she makes a powerful comeback down the line. Supposedly this is Evans last mission, even tho there’s more books, I’m curious how he’ll grow in a way we haven’t seen at the end. Also the Ida side story is a slow emotional gut punch, glad to see another side come through beyond the tough exterior. Evan holding her hand is a fav moment fs
