Monumentally annoyed but persevering

Finally getting to the more magical realism portion of the narrative. Very dense but still a page-turner. Hoping to finish before the semester begins

Just finished book one and cannot believe how invested I got. The pace is slow but the in-text author cheekily remarks about how it is helpful in setting the scene, and with the reveal at the end of the chapter, I cannot help but agree. The signs were always there and I wish I recognized it earlier
