Finished book 1 and have loved this so far. The right mix of analytical, first hand reports, and just really good historical narrative.

Chegg Xin and Fraisse are almost laughably stereotypical. A woman who fails deterrence because of her womanly instinct and an aboriginal man who acts like you told an AI man to write an aboriginal but make him smart.

This series has really been going downhill.

I can only handle 10 pages of this book at a time, don’t get me wrong it’s interesting but heavy and I don’t find the subject overly entertaining. Calling this book « friendly » was a stretch.
