I love the plot, the world, the characters, and the multiple POVS, but Kaner never sticks with the same POV for more than a chapter at a time. This worked fine in the first book when all the POVs were together for most of the book but the separation of characters in Sunbringer really slows the pacing and feels choppy.

The story has so much going for it but the relationship between Elm and Ione is the epitome of a forced, poorly written enemies-to-lovers trope. It’s ruining the story for me.

A bit cringe, but guiltily enjoyable.
