Jacob is having trouble finding anything about his grandpas life, then he goes back to the old house. he finds a trunk full of pictures. This gives him hope. And although everyone who once lived there is dead now, there is still a way to find information. He is very brave for going out on a limb to learn about the past.

Jacob and his father traveled to the island his grandfather had described many times. It was not as they expected. No contact with the outside world, run down. I don't know if Jacob will even be able to find the children's home, it may not even be running still. If I were Jacob I would be scared to death.

Jacob is diagnosed with "acute stress reaction" meaning that he only imagined seeing a monster because he was in so much shock he was delirious. I believe that jacobs grandpa is right about the creatures and the strange children, infact I think that he may have lived with them.

Jacob or Jake is the main character, his grandfather makes up stories about floating children and mysterious places, although Jacob begins to believe in these stories after finding his grandfather dead in the forest, and seeing a creature or monster at fault.

I like the poems (what do I even write there's no story in this book??)

Everything is falling apart. mindless dauntless drones are killing abnegation. Tris managed to escape but was apprehended by erudite. The ones controlling the dauntless. There is a lot going on and I'm unsure of what will happen. I am scared for Tris and I have sympathy for dauntless.

Erudite is planning to declare war on abnegation and use the dauntless to fight for them.Tris and four are dating now. I wonder if they will get in trouble or what will happen to them. I think that erudite is going to try to control dauntless.

Something big is going to happen, Erudite are the center of the problem. They are overtaking the government and controlling everything in secret. Tris and four(Tobias) kissed, and then four had second thoughts. Tris did not take this well, and slapped four. I am proud of Tris and I want to know what's going on with four.

Peter, Drew and Al (tris's friend) Attack Tris and try to throw her over the chasm. Al has been struggling alot and he probably felt threatened by Tris, and did it because he was scared. Later on, Al takes his life. I don't know whether to feel sympathy for him or to be mad at him. I think that the "peace" in the factions will not be kept much longer and a war will break out.

The second stage of dauntless initiation involves training your mind and controlling your fears. The simulation Tris was put in depicted her in a field of tall grass, everything about the setting was uncomfortable, then a flock of Crows flew down to Tris and began attacking her violently. Tris finished 3 times faster than anyone else, I think its because she is divergent.

The rankings have been posted, with Tris in 6th place out of 9 people. She needs to improve a lot before the next ranking. Edward, an initiate was stabbed in the eye one night, no one will sleep the same again. After that there were 7 initiates. One thing that I loved was when a group or dauntless went on a giant Zipline across the city, it sounds so freeing and fun.

Family day has arrived and Tris got to meet with her mother. Tris told her mother her test results and found out that her mother was dauntless too. I believe that something big Is happening, he mother is not who she says she is and divergents are in trouble.

Tris has a chance to see her parents, she doesn't know if this will be good or bad. She let out all her anger on molly, after a joke her and her friends made of her. I fully support Tris in this, although she let her anger get the better of her. I noticed how tris always comes back from her mistakes

Tris has been known as the stiff amongst the other initiates, she is still figuring out a dauntless life and trying to fit in the best she can. I admire her for being so brave to keep going, not giving up no matter what happens. She and four are becoming close.

Beatrice chose dauntless, the initiation included jumping onto a moving train, jumping off of the train onto a rooftop and jumping off a rooftop into a giant net. Beatrice is the only initiate from abegenation. I feel bad for Beatrice and I wonder how it feels for her to be the only one from her faction, leaving her family, changing her name and getting made fun of.

Beatrice must decide her faction. Her results were inconclusive, divergent. I feel bad for beatrics, it is a very hard decision, and if she cannot choose, she will be faction less. Which is considered worse than death itself.

The main character lives in a town where everything is the same, everyone lives the same life so no one is envious of each other. I get a feeling of extreme unease from this, I could never live like that.

Harry and Dumbledore left the dursleys. Dumbledore has a mysterious injury and Voldemort is back, and gaining power. I wonder what happened to Dumbledore and if it has to do with Voldemort. I feel bad for harry, he has no idea what's going on and has no where to call home.

Dumbledore has come to get harry, he enjoyed making the dursleys uncomfortable. I am glad dumbledore has come, since everyone is worried about voldemort returning. I wonder if and when harry will encounter him.

for the most part, i'm learning background knowledge on the minister and snape is talking to bellatrix and narcissa. I am hearing that voldemort has returned and i wonder if he will finally kill harry potter.

Martin is going to america, he boarded the plane. Although, he will never forget the people he left behind.The less fortunate ones, who had nothing. I feel both happy and sad for martin, and i'm overjoyed that after everything that has happened, after 8 years caitlin and martin are going to meet each other.

Caitlin and her family met up with martins friend who had made it to america. They are currently trying to get martin a full scholarship to the U.S. but time is running out and they are losing hope. I truly believe that martin can do it, And i hope he does. Martin is so kind and he deserves to have a good education, meet caitlin and have a good life.

Caitlin is working to get martin a scholarship to an american school while dealing with a boyfriend, college and a job. Martin is able to communicate with caitlin through email now, which is an enormous help.I am happy for martin and i hope he will be able to make it to the u.s. and i hope caitlin will give herself a break.

Martin is eligible to go to a fancy school hours away from home. I wonder if he will get in, here he is just like the other students, at home he is extraordinary. The fee to get in is 1000z, 4 times the monthly rent. I can tell that this is going to change his life forever.

Martin got all A's on nine exams and is top in the region. He will be able to go to a university, be a doctor or lawyer. Caitlin is doing research on zimbabwe and keeping martins family afloat. I wonder if caitlin realizes how much she is doing and how important she is to martins family. And i wonder if martin realizes just how lucky he is.

Caitlin has started to regularly send martin money, this is very hard to do considering the situation in zimbabwe. The extreme poverty has led to fights, robberies and now the post office is on strike. They go through peoples mail, which is not a good thing considering whats being sent. I feel horrible knowing that this actually happened. I wonder if caitlin will ever get to meet martin.

Martin is in severe poverty, he finally opens up to caitlin in what seems to be his last letter, written on an ice cream wrapper. Caitlin feels confused and sad, she sends him twenty and then forty dollars. I am sympathetic of martin and i wonder if he will be able to keep sending letters, let alone pay rent.

People are going on strike in zimbabwe and the cost of living is going up for martin. I have the feeling that soon Martin won't be able to afford to send letters anymore. Caitlin sent him a reebok shirt from ross, it was cheap for her, For martin it was worth 100's of dollars. That amazes me, how the richest people in zimbabwe are equivalent to the poorest people in america.

Natasha is getting deported after all. After she was promised that it would not happen. I don't know how daniel can act like he has known her his whole life, under such circumstances it seems like he knows her. Daniel was willing to give up his entire future for her, he bailed on his interview for yale to be with her. I wonder what he will do when shes gone.
