this has been sitting on my bookshelf since my cuba obsession began circa 2017 and i never read it sooo it is time 💜

it is cliché to say that authors who say anything astute are predicting the future but even in the first 2 chapters, mbembe's comments on technology, militarism and the Israeli govt/IDF's treatment of palestinians as a 'laboratory' demonstrating how fascist powers exert control over marginalised groups elsewhere, r even more applicable now than they were when this was first published. Highly highly recommend
