Frodo made it to Rivendell with the help of his friends and Strider, a mysterious stranger they meet that knows Gandalf. After arriving in Rivendell they have a big meeting about what they should do with the ring and Frodo plus many companions go to try to destroy the ring because of the great evil and power it holds.

Frodo went into the old forest with some friends, trying to follow the path from a distance because they believed they are being followed. They get lost pretty fast and have to work their way through the forest.
