“The war ended, but we spent several years demining fields, lakes, rivers”.

I’m reading this book while my people are at war with our government. Bits of the text is hard for me to handle as, although the writer has tried her best to illustrate the most unwomanly face of the war, it’s still far better than what Persian women are facing right now.

This book is a great demonstration of what reading brings to our imagination. The text is silky and smooth, yet filled with deep descriptions. It follows the story of Kote, a true legend, whose early life is marked by loss and suffering.

It’s a pure, easy-to-read, wholesome story about a girl rescued by a dragon, who in return tries to save the dragon. I like how the story revolves around women as sorcerers, keepers, and hunters.

I’m still not sure where the story is going. There’s no big problem appearing yet!
