An element I would probably use from The Shining is how King writes a character's thoughts in a separate paragraph and in parenthesis and italised. I like it because it gives a small insight to what a character actually thinks by not just part of a paragraph but a whole different sentence/paragraph. There's no way for me to incorporate it now I'm too deep in, but I could sneak it in every now and then.

A great foreshadow in The Shining is the repeated usage of REDRUM. I don't know what the connection is, but I feel like it is gonna be used sometime in the later pages of the story. It's been mentioned a lot of times to the point that it is guaranteed to be mentioned every time Danny has a nightmare

Wendy and Jack Torrance's love life is romantic yet tragic. They both love each other, but after Jack broke Danny's arm and Wendy considered divorce, it has been rocky although there are sparks of romance from time to time.

The big decision was Jack taking the job as the Overlook Hotel caretaker and bringing his family. One more big decision was Hallorann talking to Danny about his "powers".

King switches paragraphs when the scene goes into a flashback, and/or is doing an action.

The first few words of the book can immediately hook a reader because of King's word choices. His use of profanity has intrigued me into reading it because of how "unprofessional" it is. It's not often you see an author just throw out a cuss word like that

One side plot in The Shining is the love life between Jack and Wendy Torrance. It shows how much Jack is trying to be better for Wendy, and for Danny as well.

The catalyst in The Shining, in my opinion, would be Jack breaking Danny's arm and/or him getting fired from his last job and having to move to Colorado and getting a job at the Overlook Hotel because this serves as basically what pushes the entire story to start walking, running, and sprinting.

Stephen King builds suspense by including in parenthesis to indicate what Tony says in Danny's mind. It is showing the reader how much he is affecting Danny.

The protagonist is neither likable or unlikable in my eyes. Danny is a child. He doesn't know what's going on around him. He does have a small understanding of what's going on, but not all of it. Jack, on the other hand, is unlikable. He tells Wendy that he changed but always goes back to heavign drinking, and even almost ended their marriage after he broke Danny's arm.

In my opinion, I believe that King named the character Jack because he is a man.

Jack Torrance is the father of Danny Torrance, who also works at the Overlook Hotel in Colorado. King shows his struggles with alcoholism by showing his thoughts in italized texts and giving flashbacks. He also shows how little he speaks, and when he does, it is in small sentences.

This part of the book made me very happy yet sad. Happy because the main characters become even closer and they reflect on their time spent together. Sad because I realize something like this will never happen to me

Kusunoki felt betrayed and sad as his childhood friend, Himeno, walked out on him, and left him a letter explaining how she hated him and was planning on ending her own life in front of him, so possibly, he walked out on him to end it all.

Nash Tongco is starting Bleach, Volume 70
I finished it. The conflict on this Volume was Miyura, a character, fighting along side the other Soul Reapers against Quincies. He battles an arm by the name of Pernida, who can shoot blood from his fingertips and create arrows from his fingers. Miyura's conflict is fighting Pernida, and arguing with his creation, Meru.
