I hate being stuck in Maggie's head. This books manages to make fight scenes and secret assassins boring...

Is this just another level of man... MAGsplaining orrrr does this book attempt to give some insight and opinions on the US military? Which I sincerely don't give much f about, definitely not enough to thorough read over two pages of her yapping?

Main character peed herself in the first 25 pages which makes my determination to finish the book evaporate. You're on a borrowed time now, book!
Writing style is also mid at best. Describing every slight movement in a way that sounds like a grocery list. She stood up. She clutched a stone. She sighed. None of this info is important nor gives me an idea about the character's personality. It's giving Wattpad writing..

I appreciate how progressive this series was at the time but the way attraction and sexual encounters wre described is so rapey... I hoped it was just an issue of the first volume and the way that scene happened... But omg, poor Brekke. Alright, she likes F'nor and wants him but SHE SCREAMED NO and F'nor was all like "it's cool cause I made you come" 🤢🤢
