Pam is starting Scandal Above Stairs (A Below Stairs Mystery, #2)
I really like this Below Stairs Mystery series. This is the 4th book ( including prequel), and one thing is REALLY bugging me. Why is Kat ( Mrs Holloway) consistently ANGRY with Daniel for just doing his job? Just because she’s curious and nosy doesn’t give her the right to confidential information.
The writing is good and kept me engaged, and the supporting cast gets more fleshed out with each book.

I’m currently reading this book and so far I can’t stand the main character Cleo. She’s surprised that her nosiness and intrusive questions annoy others. Cleo is a true dichotomy. She acts entitled to people of her rank or higher, but is the opposite when dealing with members of the servant class. What makes her think the police need her help? Does she think she’s the only smart person in London?

Ok now 50 percent done. Stella is showing her insecurities and we can all relate to those. But again with thinking she knows everything? Including what Silvester is thinking and feeling?
One minute she says she must get married , the next she says she won’t marry without love and will be a spinster instead. Again I’m confused.

Why is Stella so judgmental and superior? Why is Silvester hanging out with her instead of Jasmine? Why is there no story except the will they -won’t they plot line? Where is my Eloisa of the Wilder stories? This may be my first DNF of EJ.

Pam is starting Love Lettering
Currently on Chapter 8 in the audiobook. This book definitely needs to be READ not listened to, even though the narrator is fine. It’s the subject matter. It has to do with 2 awkward main characters. The female lead does custom hand lettering for signs, journals, invitations, etc. The printed word is a 3rd character in this book and because I’m listening I’m losing part of the experieniece. So far I’m bored.

So, far I think the only word Maddy (the Heroine) knows is "No!" Even when you ask her if she's hungry, she says No! What a contrarian.

Argh! Why why why is one of my favorite authors making a heroine so stupid? I hate it when the protagonist stays willfully ignorant. I know it draws out the storyline, but this author is better than that.

So far, I'm sad to say, I'm not loving this book. And I'm a true fan of Ms Willig's work. Let's see if it gets any better.

Arghhhh! I want to pull my hair out! This heroine Elizabeth is so frustrating! So far she is the most selfish creature. All she does is whine and lie... A lot. Oh and continually say she's sorry, but not change her behavior. So frustrating!
