Absolutely riveting! Did you know Celtic languages, of which modern Irish and Scottish Gaelic are members, were once spoke as far away as modern day Turkey and Spain? Gone now thanks to the Romans.
Another fun factoid, the Gothic language, the only member of the no longer extant Eastern Germanic branch of Germanic languages was spoken in modern Crimes up to the 1700s. Germanic, Slavic, Turkic all in the same place.
