So much for “words can never hurt me”. It is fascinating to see how deeply that language can affect our interpersonal connections and our perceptions- not just in a big bad cult situation, but even in everyday settings.

Back to back memoirs of daughters with difficult relationships with their mothers, this will be interesting

Only 2% in but I have a feeling I’ll be sobbing through my commute over the next week or so. But it’s very good so far!

With the audiobook, this one is a little hard to follow so far. I think the print or ebook might be a better option if you’re like me. But, then again this is literally a fever dream/hallucination so I guess that’s how I’m supposed to feel!

I’m not exactly sure where the plot is going so far but I’m guessing the loose ends all come together in the second half.

I want to know what happened to her brother and if Dawn is actually hearing these voices or not
