The Thief Maker sounds a little like Jack Sparrow in my head and im keeping that way. And Father Chains is hilarious!!!

Finally back to this and I gotta say, I think it's better than the Star Wars books (excluding RotS).

Chapter 13: Why couldn't the whole book have been like this chapter???

I'm almost tempted to give it 4 stars......almost

I want to acknowledge, that the book got better around this part. The stories of the two characters on opposing sides has some similarities I wasnt paying attention to until now, and I like the way the book gives examples of the magic used in Star Wars. Im thinking right now it may be a 3.5 when I'm done.

Two separate stories finally intertwining. The end of the chapter was nice. I'm starting to like these characters.

I really want to like this book. It's kind of interesting, but not in a way that keeps me hooked.

I will say, while I dont like the way it shifts between character perspectives in the middle of a chapter, I think it fits very well in Chapter 5. It made the context of the scene a lot more interesting. I also noticed, this seems like a common thing in these books (there was something like this in Revan).

It's ok. Kind of interesting so far, but missing some details I liked from other star wars books.

Let the record show, chapter 33 broke me

Im falling behind. Also, one problem is that reading through three worlds at the same time can make it hard to remember one story when it's skipped for so long. Aside from that, im heavily invested in each story.

I feel like this is gonna ruin all other books for me

Whenever I want to continue one part of the plot, im taken to another. Quit toying with my emotions!

This book makes the other one look so minor in comparison, and i didnt think that was possible

I updated last night but had to do it again. This last chapter was great. The sadness with the need to still keep everything a secret was depressing. Im so happy the chapter made me that invested to keep reading. Between the conversation about and the illustration of the post-war effects, I'm sad, but want to keep reading more to see what happens.

Chapter 45 is my favorite! I prefer part 1 of the book because I really liked the world building aspect. Getting to understand the world and how difficult the task was going to be.

Part 2 gave me some Harry Potter vibes in the beginning, but then it pivoted and got a lot more interesting to me. I also enjoy the way Vis's lessons go into moral discussions about the Hierarchy and his amd his classmates opinions

Finished the first two books.

First book was great for someone who hasn't played the games. Story wasnt anything crazy special

Second book was a little more interesting, but mostly felt like a side mission from the game. Pretty gory though (which fits with the grittier theme of the second game which this book is closer to)

Vis is like a young Batman. And I like that the author just throws you into the world for you to figure things out as you go along. It puts you more in the Vis's perspective since he's kind of stuck doing the same thing. Curious to see how the plot changes
