Giving this author another chance. The first two books were just bad (I would give 0 star if I could). Her female characters are major red flags walking….. reading this because of the age-gap trope

Omfg Ashlyn is annoying af. She’s like: ‘I don’t want this, but I’ll get mad because I don’t want this and when this is really not happening’. She is such a dilemma. And she gets mad for no reason other than her own decisions/choices. She gets mad at everyone other than herself, BUT SHE IS THE MAIN PROBLEM IN ALL SITUATIONS. smh

I had a big issue with how Madison, Ian, & Riley cornered Alex into using his forced retirement story without asking first. Madison didn’t consult him at all, just assumed he’d be fine exposing his struggles? Alex was still dealing with it & their push felt more manipulative than supportive. Framing it as “helping others” doesn’t excuse using someone’s pain without consent. It made them pretty unlikeable
