Justice for Kim because what the fuck

This is so much more subtle than God of Malice holy shit I had to read backwards chronologically to find more depth in Kent’s work. The emotions are authentic feeling and relatable, of course there’s the fantasy element of rich kids in big castle school but also it feels just much more human also the romance is better

Wow so the parental stuff is one surprisingly good thing about this book. I enjoyed reading from the perspective of the parents. Makes you care about the main characters even more. If only the rest of the book did that as good as those two chapters lol

The excessive character backstory we go into in order to set up the rest of dynamics in this series is pretty distracting as someone who will probably only read the first book

Haha this man is psychotic and this book is filled with fear and a malevolent energy

Perhaps it’s beyond the scope of this book but I’m finding the dynamic between Laura and Isa very interesting. It’s like a conversation between two very different kinds of femininity, one who sees gain in playing into stereotypes and materialism and another who is still trying to figure themselves out beyond those expectations. Laura is actually a really interesting character. Wish there was a whole book about

Love how we’re like only pages away from an ending and yet there’s this communication issues and expositional explanations about how things work, like damn is there such a thing as too much lore dropping

This is kind of an emotionally exhausting read for me. I wonder if it’s because it’s so long. I do like the world, though it’s sort of confusing at times, but it’s strange that I had a comment that Noctacadia could have been longer and I would have loved it yet I feel like there’s not alot here to warrant another 600+ page book. Am also finding Farryn to be inconsistent as a character
