Liked this memoir very much. Goodman does such a nice job of setting us right into the small world of rural France. Loved getting to know his French friends and loved his steadfast effort to bring his garden to harvest. The bounty included far more than tomatoes ...

Great read ! Ending was a bit rushed, but overall I loved it ! Take away ... women are still fighting the battles in the working world, the economic sphere, and even within their social circles. Damn !

And then what happened ? The printer lost a bundle of pages and repeated a bundle from earlier in the book. I have put this book down. Dang it !

I'm sure this book will have me squirming with anxiety, considering my fear of spiders and snakes, but oh, what an adventure to the heart of a continent! Fawcett was some strange and powerful force of nature!

Diving into David Copperfield ... what a likeable little boy he is ... such an innocent.

Mr. Penumbra's ... clever story, much name-dropping, likeable protagonist, fun and funny as well as being a bit of a throwback to the Potter series ... sorta, kinda ...
