I’m obsessed with this series and all I want is for Tella to end up with Jacks even though I KNOW that’s not going to happen.
And he clearly stays a fate because OUABH, duh.

It’s giving Phantasma vibes, which really means Phantasma would be giving Caraval vibes. I unfortunately, read Phantasma first, so this is vibing like that.
Julien is EITHER the villain of this book, or he is actually Legend which is why everyone in Carval keeps being weird and secretive around him.

Now I’m really skimming and trying to just find the plot points and avoid the NEVER-ENDING smut. 🙄
But there are 2 more books in the series, and I fucking KNOW I’ll be reading when they are released. I hate myself.

I literally don’t know why this series has such a chokehold on me. It’s not event that good… why am I so obsessed?

Why am I doing this to myself?

The sheer amount of chapters I’ve skipped is wild. I hate this book… it’s so cringe. But I also have a NEED to finish the story and find out what happens. I want to DNF it so bad but my brain won’t let me leave it “unfinished”

I can’t keep going. I can’t I can’t I can’t. I’ll die if I have to turn one more devastating page.

Shit.
I can’t turn the page. There is so much PERIL and I am fraught with anxiety.

It hurts a lot. All of these emotions I’m feeling.

From the first page of this book I knew I was going to be in love with Isabelle.

This book was entirely too boring in the beginning. It has gotten quite interesting now that the actual “mystery” is starting to unravel… but I don’t think it has made up for how drab the first 150 pages were.

Ok, maybe I picked this back up when my brain was finally ready to enjoy this.

Very run of mill. Not difficult to put down at any point. Wondering if I want to continue or DNF…

Been speeding through a little re-read refresher before starting The Shadow Bride. I forgot how GOOD this book was. I hope the second is just as good.

I can’t tell how much I like this book because I feel like I’m confused too often.
This also reminds me quite a bit of One Dark Window.

I feel like there is POTENTIAL for where she has taken this story line to be good….
I have zero faith in the author to make it as epic as it could be.
