YES!! I feel the same way every time I see an American Flag on the back of a big truck!

I can’t see through my tears….the very idea that we compartmentalize these atrocities to be okay with looking the other way-to justify it not being our responsibility to be outraged, to call for a stop- to march and yell and demand change….to not be absolutely disgusted by our country’s willingness to allow this to happen…I am unsure of what it looks like to be patriotic to believe in a democracy like this

I’ve wanted to DNF this book so many times!! Not because it’s bad but the opposite- it’s written so well it makes me incredibly uncomfortable
