At the start of chapter 53 it shocked me when the Keepers declared to convince the Gladers to join forces. "We need to get the Gladers on our side" ( 298). Even Alby joins in after he is known as someone who will never do anything like that. This shocked me because it shows how Alby has changed from being someone that will never go into the maze intentionally, he is always been afraid. Alby shows change in himself.

On page 224, Minho suspicously tells Thomas, "That dead Griever I found it ran this way and we never saw it come back or go deeper into the maze" (224). Minho feels that something is up, and that him and Thonas are being tricked by the Grievers. Then, they remeber that there is a secret exit that the Grievers take, so they are going to try to find it to finally escape the maze. This shows extreme bravery of the pals.

On page 35, Thomas tells Chuck that he wants to become a runner. "I'll tell Alby tomorrow. A runnner, Thomas thought. I don't even know what that means. Have I gone completely insane?" Thomas has no clue what the dangers are about getting into being a runner. Chuck has to try to explain that it is not worth it. Thomas doesn't listen and thinks to himself about if he should do it, as it is his choice of way, only his.

On page 354, when the people looking for Bello knew she was there the detectors spoke loud, and clear "No sense denying she's here; we already know. And he gestured toward Bello, whose DNA detector was pinging in the red." as mutch as the scythes tried to hide her, and tell the intruders where she was going, the intruders knew she had been there, and was there. This part of the story is very important for the scythes

The text states 'Never lose your humanity, Scythe Faraday had told him, or you'll be nothing more than a killing machine. He had used the word killing rather than gleaning. Rowan hadn't thought much of it at the time. (295)"

Asher B. is finished with The Jacket
Gary is a very grateful boy. After he asked his mom for a cool new jacket and got an ugly guacamole-colored one, he was still thankful for it. In the story, Gary, "threw the jacket onto his brother's bed and looked at it for a long time before slipping it on and going to the backyard, smiling a thank you to his mom" (4). This shows thateven though Gary doesn't like his jacket, he is still grateful he even has one.
