My favorite part was when they talked about MJ sticking out his tounge. This is MJ's signature thing he used to do and many people act out this when shooting.The book states "he started to stick out his tongue as he practiced. He didn't realize it, but he took after his father who did the same" (9-10) .This shows how Micheal stuck out his tongue, he did this when he was very focused. (Cool that his father did too.)

My favorite part was when the book stated how the Cosmos were down 2-0 at half time. They stated how they were still in the mind to win and they believed. Pele stated " We control ourselves now. Everything will be no problem" (129). This shows how the mindset of Pele was unbearable, they ended up winning this game to Dallas because of Pele. Pele scored 3 times with many stops from the keeper.

One favorite part was when the fans stayed out in the sun and barefoot for so long to watch Pele play.They sat there 3 hours before the game to get good seats and then waited 2 hours after the game to meet Pele."The fans were all red, decked in sunburn" (99). They've been here for 7 hours at this point. This shows how badly people wanted to see Pele and meet him, he was truly and inspirational talent and a great guy.

One favorite part was when Pele scored the game wining goal in the NASL championship and he thanked his teammates. He always put his team first before him and I really admire that about him."Thank you,Thank you, my good friends". This quote shows how even when he made the greatest play, he still recognized his teammates and appreciated them. This shows how Pele was very unselfish and put everyone before himself.

One favorite part was when Pele was talking about how football meant everything to him. He really gave his all to the sport of football and was one of the greatest ever. Pele stated "For me, Football was life" (50). Pele also said that "The game will always be in my blood" (50). Both of these quotes really hit me because of him recently passing away. This shows how Pele's love for the game was unbreakable.

One part that was very sad was when Chuck passed away. I felt so bad for Thomas, Chuck has been is best friend since he got put in the glade. "I promised I'd save him, take him home! I promised him!" (358) Seeing Thomas like this was very hurtful and the quote stated how sad he was.He thought it was his fault and he was the one that was supposed to save Chuck. Without Chuck with him who knows how Thomas will live.

One interesting part was when Thomas found the 6 letters. Everyone thought it was nothing at first, but they had to find the right order because these words have been repeating for months. Teresa states " That's all? Are you sure this is in the correct order?" (290) This shows how there is some sort of confusion with the words and the order. When they figure it out it can change everything.

One shocking part was when everyone in the glade realized the walls did not close. This is incredible because something like this has never happened before. Alby states "The walls, you shuck. The Doors. They did not close tonight." (239) This shows how surprised everyone in the glade is, like something like this has never once happened before. The fear and the horror in Albys voice sound real.

One funny part was when Thomas started crying after he killed the grievers. I thought it was funny because Minho was very serious and acted like nothing happened. "Then, finally, came the tears." (138) I get why he was crying because it was a scary situation, but for me as a reader it was very funny. That quote shows how Thomas was crying and how he was nervous I would like to know if anyone else thought that funny.

One shocking part was on the last part of page 125. Thomas saw a griever. This was very shocking because of the fact that right before this part he discovered the beetle that Thomas and the gladers claim to be a spy. Thomas states " He knew it had to be a spy from whoever sent them here" (125) Also "Something unspeakable. A Griever" (125) This quote shows how shocked Thomas was at the things he had just witnessed.

The most important part is when the girl shows up. This is the first girl ever to arrive in the glade.Everyone in the glade was absolutely shocked when the girl showed.They were all making jokes at first, but then they realized something is not right. She had a message that said "She's the last one ever." This shows that she will be the one to change everything forever. Also she's the last chance that they have.

One trait to describe Gary is his insecurities about himself. One example was when he saw the teachers and students laughing and gossiping about how funny he looked in his new jacket. "The teachers were no help, they looked my way and talked about how foolish I looked in my new jacket. I saw their heads bob with laughter, their hands half-covering their mouth." (3) This shows that Gary was very self-conscious.
