The first chapter in Tortilla Flat by John Steinback was full of detail and action. Danny gets drunk and starts picking fights and cursing out fishermen and then gets thrown in jail. "he has two short but glorious fights, shouts racial slurs at some Italian fishermen who cheerfully welcome him home and breaks some windows" (10). This shows how there was a lot of action.

In the summer I turned pretty, the past couple of chapters showed alot of drama and showed how belly was raised. "belly was raised on leftovers, werent you bean? I was a neglected child who was fed only old food that nobody else wanted." (268) This shows how she grew up and gives you alot of background information.

In the past chapters ive read, Taylor, Bellys friend, hurt her after kissing her brother. This hurt Belly because she didnt know taylor liked him and she thought it was weird "I've always had a crush on Steven, you know that Belly" (184). After Taylor says that, Belly says "Actually I didn't." (185) which shows she didnt know about it which can be confusing and hurtful.

One scene that changed my perspective about Belly and Conrads friendship is when Belly thought conrad was going to be mean to her. I thought conrad was super nice to Belly. "In my head, I heard Conrad go "ooh youre hitting on him. Way to flirt Belly." (145) This shows that Belly thinks that Conrad would make fun of her and that he can be tough on her

One moment that shows how much belly has changed was when Conrad noticed Belly wearing makeup which her old self would never wear. "Whats with the perfume? Its giving me a headache. And why are you wearing all that makeup"? (139) This shows that Belly is started to change from her older self and is starting to try new things.

Bellys parents have been through ups and downs. In the text it hints that, after her parents got divorced, Belly wasnt as close with her father as she was with her mother."I think my dad stopped being my hero when I saw him with one of his PhD students after he and my mother separated. She wasn't even pretty" (48) Indicating that Belly doesnt look up to her dad after the divorce.

In the Summer I turned Pretty, Belly goes to her family friends beach house. Belly realizes that she changed from how she was last year. "Im keeping my contacts" "Belly is all grown up" (8)

Lena running for her life, leaving Alex behind, Lena and Alex getting caught breaking rules and being chased by regulators. Lena almost being forced to getting the cure. These past chapters ive read were very intense and filled with action. "I run for I dont know how long. Hours, maybe days." (440) What Lena said shows how much action there was. She ran knowing the risks which takes alot of courage.

I was shocked while reading Delirium. When Alex saved Lena from almost getting beaten to death and confessed to Lena that he likes her. "I like you. Alex said. You dont know me. I say quickly. I want to though. Alex says" (226) This is so shocking to me because he knows it's illegal and he knows theres a chance that Lena will get scared of him and never talk to him again.

One important part in the book Delirium, by Lauren Oliver was when Lena was talking to Alex. This was very important considering the fact that she was suppose to meet up with him and never did. She also started to dance with him, which is a very big rule to break. Two uncures cant do stuff like that. She knew she could get in alot of trouble but still went with it "We can get in trouble"she said. She was very worried

In the book Delirium by Lauren Oliver, Lena went to a party to meet up with her friend. When she arrived, she knew she was in the wrong crowd "this is illegal" she said. She saw alex, the boy who she was suppose to meet up with and the had an awkward conversation. She was desperate to leave the party.

In Delirium, by Lauren Oliver, Jen wants to get cured. This chapter Jen met a boy when she was getting cured who let in a stampeed of cows into the building. She later met up with him and he pretended to not know her. He later on told her to meet up with her later. She was very confused on why he wanted to meet up and also she was a little bit intimidated.

In the book Delirium by Lauren Oliver, Lena is very eager to get cured. She knows its not normal to be excited for it. Most people are terrified. On page 1 Lena says "Many people are afraid of the procedure and even resist, but im not. I cant wait. I would have it done tomorrow if I could." This shows how excited she is to be cured.

Gary is a grateful kid. He asked his mom for a jacket and got a really ugly green one. In the story, Gary "threw the jacket onto his brothers bed and looked at it for a long time before slipping it on and going to the backyard, smiling a thank you to his mom" (4). This shows that even though Gary didnt like the jacket hes still grateful.

I like this book. Belly needs to make a choice.
