One part I found important was when the scenery of the island is explained.In the beginning the Island of the Blue Dolphins is described as a very windy place.For example, Karana says "All the winds except the one from the south are strong"(pg.10). I think the information given will be important for future events and could be mentioned in a different way for the mood of the book.

One emotional part was when Clare and her father found her mothers ashes and threw them into the ocean.Clare goes to the beach with her father,feeling at ease while throwing her mothers ashes into the ocean. "To your home, your home, back to your home, my dearest love"(351). As her father says these words, I though it was an emotional moment between father and daughter as they throw her mothers ashes into the ocean.

One shocking part was when Clare shot an arrow to the beast who turned out to be Finn who she thought was dead. "In the war between human and Strange that was Finn, the Strange won out this time, and the wound did not kill him. But his left eye was gone"(238). I found this part shocking because Finn turned out to be alive and his death had been a lie, but also because Clare was able to reunite with her friend.

One shocking part was when Balor threatens Clare to have his totem kill her or her father. After Balor threatens her, Clare starts to hear an odd, dry, scratchy, rattle like noise coming from above and behind her. "Above them hovering in the air was the open mouthed mad-eyed totem."(pg.109) I found this part shocking because I would start shaking and crying if I saw a totem hovering above me ready to kill me.

One sad part was when Clare made herself forget her mother after she died when she was six. After her mom died Clare would replace her feelings and memories with other thoughts and different memories that didn't contain her mother. " That flower of pain wouldn't stop blooming, and she was only little, and knew no other way.(pg.4) I thought it was sad because forgetting a loved one to not feel pain isn't easy.

One favorite part was when Lev rushed to help Connor after he came out of the blown up building. For example, once Connor has blown up the Chop Shop Lev rushes to his aid making sure he's alright. "Then Lev take's the other half of his shirt and ties it around Connor's arm." (pg.312) I like this part because it shows how much Lev has grown to care about Connor.

One conflict was when Risa was trying to calm Connor down because of the way the Juvey Cop was talking. For example, the cop starts talking about how they should've made better life choices. "Risa can sense Connor's rage and she squeezes his hand until she hears him take a deep breath and release it, keeping his anger under control. "(pg.257) Risa's trying to keep Connor relaxed and not make the situation worse.

One Conflict was when Lev started threatening Tyler's parent's causing commotion and leading in him and CyFi getting seperated. For example, CyFi starts crying and begging Tyler's parents to tell him he won't be unwounded."If he does, I'll atleast get in one good swing at Tyler's parent's before I go down." Lev is determined to have Cyfi hear what he desires to hear even if it get's the police involved and him dead.

One Conflict was when Cyfi started acting up not being his usual self making worry stir up inside Lev. For example, when Lev ran after Cyfi who had taken an ornament from a christmas tree, running into a park hiding from Lev. After Lev finds him Cyfi hurts himself by crushing the ornament with his hands saying he didn't take anything. Seeing this Lev runs to the nearest pharmacy worrying about Cyfi's well being.

One conflict was when Lev snitched on Resa and Connor telling the school nurse he'd been kidnapped causing Connor and Resa to rely on a teacher promising to help them runaway. For example, after calling the police Lev pulls the fire alarms preventing Resa and Connor from getting caught. "What he's really saying is:Please be a human being." In this sentence we can see, how determined Connor and Resa are to escape.

One conflict was when Connor was being chased by the police because of his attempt in escaping his unwind fate. For example, Connor runs into the high avoiding tranquilizers that are being fired towards him. In the text it states " The accidents have gotten the Juvey-cops momentarily distracted, but won't stay that way for long." (pg.37)With this we can tell that Connor will do anything in order to not be unwind.

One conflict was when Gary got bullied at school, making him start to hate his jacket . He tried to leave it in an alley yet couldn't, knowing his mom went through the trouble of buying it. Gary states "I stared at the jacket, like an enemy thinking bad things before I took off my old jacket who's sleeves climb halfway to my elbow." By Gary's statement we can see he doesn't like his jacket and got bullied for it.
