Realized I’m stupid and accidentally read the first chapter of the 3rd book without reading the 2nd book first (this is the third time it’s happened this year)

Today marks the second time this year I’ve accidentally started a second book in a series (whether it’s an interconnected standalone or not). It’s through Libby, so I guess I already know what I’m reading after this. Paying attention helps, but that’s asking a lot of me.
