So many characters to keep track of with stupid rules they make up and the plot has gotten lost in this stinking dungheap of a book.

Struggling. Did the author even go to Maine or do research? No one calls it Down East. The beaches are not infested with jellyfish. And for fuck’s sake, the ocean temperature in May is 43-50 F so it’s highly unlikely an eight year old would be playing in the water and holding her breath underwater for 59 seconds. Please make it get better.

Somebody buy this author a thesaurus before she uses the same adjectives again!
