Greatest first-person crime saga I've ever read. Always wondered why Al Pacino wanted to play another Latino hood after Tony Montana, and I'm guessing it was this novel that sold him. It reads like a 167-page monologue any actor would kill to sink his teeth into.

So pleased my "Countermagick," aka Chapter 11 of my ballet manuscript, has been published by the lovely people at The Rabbit Hole. Did I really cram the historical figures Margot Fonteyn, Constant Lambert, Ian Fleming, Anthony Powell, and Aleister Crowley into a mere ten pages? You betcha! $17 paperback or $3 Kindle? Cheap!!

"I never knew men could be such bitches!" must have elicited all sorts of gasps and pearl-clutching in 1943. Awful title aside, the rest is very much an American BRIEF ENCOUNTER: two nice, ordinary people finding love in a chance encounter. Hopelessly dated, but forever true.

My short story "Countermagick" has been accepted for publication in Volume 5 of the anthology series The Rabbit Hole. This will be the second excerpt from my British Ballet novel CONSTANT MOTION to appear in print.
