Just read an interview with the author "You could chuck the chapters into the air and read them in any order – that’s what it’s like to be blown up" That's exactly how it feels to read it. I was brought to tears today by the prefecture of a bed.

"The metal rod at the heart of me detonated, a controlled high-explosive force that triggered the mix in me to react.
I functioned."

Wow! I'm amazed at the different voices inanimate objects can have, from the detached, factual military related items, to the caring voice of some medical equipment. I'm utterly engaged. The chapters are brief and read as a collection of short stories, unveiling an overall tale.

The book started off with a lot of swearing and a drug bust - I wasn't expecting that and that's not really my thing. But that was just one of the POV, the other two POV are so different, it's amazing how well the different voices suit the different characters. I love all the MC and I think I'm developing a crush on all 3 of their prospects too!

It's reading like a string of anecdotes. Bit slow, I'm getting distracted by faster paced books. I will keep reading though.

Getting more drawn in now. Don't really like any of the characters but fascinated to find out what happened.

This is getting exciting. ..

It took me about 50 pages to really empathize with Victoria. I didn't like her to begin with and thought her an over stereotypical damaged foster child. Now I'm drawn right in and want to see her two stories come together and see her own up.

Time travel and swing dancing. How awesome is that! But squeezing her hand to lead a turn ....that is so rock n roll, not lindy hop. But I would love to dance In the Mood with George in any timeline.

I remember the class making the teacher cry.

It had taken me to chapter 43 to work out why the chapter numbers are off. Prime numbers!

Really enjoying this one. Set in a winery and full of family relationships and miscommunications.

I love the opening line. So I get run over by a bus and I'm wearing my worst knickers.

I thought the Battle of Brisbane referred to was just made up but a quick online search and the 2 day riot actually happened.

I spent the first half of the book waiting for one of the characters to drop dead. Glad it hasn't happened. I'm quite emotionally caught up and I'm finding it hard to stretch out my reading so it will count for Tower Teams 3 in NBRC!

Listening to this one. Really enjoying it so far. Family drama - great characters.

The first part of the book is set in North Queensland in Australia. A rich American man meets a small town Aussie girl. The setting moves to New York and the timeliness includes September 11, 2001.

I'm emotionally caught up and feeling sad. The miscommunications have been smoothed out but it hasn't fixed everything. Yet.

Rosie is annoying me at the moment. Too self absorbed. Lots of problems due to miscommunication.

Don is the same socially inept character. Rosie is dealing with pregnancy hormones so not really herself. Loving it so far. Combination of Don's disasters and everything falling into place.

Yay finally got to start this. I loved the first one and have been trying to finish the books I was in the middle of when this library request came in.

I've been really caught up with this book. I was planning to read it as a buddy read but I can't stop reading ahead. About to start part 5.

I just finished reading Treasure Island and now these characters are about to head off to sea on a treasure hunt.

This is a fun read with a magical realism feel.

Still loving this book. Lots of likable characters who I care about. Very curious to find out "who done it" and who to.
