I don't know how I'm supposed to finish this book because I am very frustrated with Diem's actions here. It's like all the growth she accumulated from the first book until the third has been tossed outside the window. I badly want to DNF because of it but I'm still hoping for some character development here.

I'm somewhat disappointed of the way Diem's character is written. I feel like everything that happened to her from the past three books turned into air. Her decisions seem so unlike her - I refuse to believe that being trapped in the island with Perthe's dead body and her knowing her fate upon killing her sire is what breaks her and not Andrei's death. I thought we're past that already.

So disappointing.
