I need a reset. I've DNF'ed like 4 books in a row and I need something I love so I'm back to this story for the 3rd time and I'm already in it. Thank God. I thought I hated reading or something!

Even 75% through I still don't feel any chemistry between them. It's all quite boring it doesn't feel like some epic love story like Wilder and Jax or any of the other duos. It's more like - "Hey lets get together. You're sexy and kinda interesting."

So we're at that point where there should be a ton of tension between the characters. They should have connected on a deeper level while still trying to keep up a boundary. But there is no chemistry between the MCs. Marcos is chaos with no good foil in Chance. Chance has no personality. Literally the most interesting thing about him is his connection to Ethan. Why is Marcos "falling for him" at this point?

Caleb: "My wife is miserable, and I don’t know if she’s unhappy with me or she’s unhappy in general, and I have no idea how to fix it."

Me: fucking talk to her about it!!!!!!!!!

My God Caleb and Briar don't know what the other is thinking or feeling but they don't ask each other about it!!!!

If shit with Dean doesn't heat up soon I'm going to drop this. It can't all be based on a miscommunication trope. Ugh.

Is there any actual connection between the characters other than sex? I don't see it.

What did Logan actually do to Dom? He got mad at him because Don withheld info from him. Logan was mad because his friends and family did that before. Finn was a complete ass to Logan before but they kept coming back. It's weird.

It's pretty basic. Damian is perfect book boyfriend and is one-note. I get that Abbie was in an emotionally abusive relationship but her constantly assuming Damian is going to behave like Richard is getting to be too much.

It also needs another review by a good editor.

Light on plot. She has a secret and is worried that she's just another woman in a string of women. He thinks she's hiding something and is worried she'll end up only wanting him for his money. Sex is kinda mediocre and the Daddy trope isn't working for me. Also, it turns out that a 35 year age gap is too much for me. I'll finish it because I've loved the other salacious books.

I am really bored. The story is uninspiring. It's a really short book and there are only 100 pages left so I guess I'll finish.
