Today, not before time, I finished Book I of the Faerie Queene's VI. I cannot overstate how beautiful it is. The narrative for the first few hundred verses I found to be quite uncapturing, but Spenser writes so beautifully that it's of little consequence what he's actually writing about. Is he the greatest English poet? I think he might be
