Why does the amount of metaphors make me feel like two 9th graders wrote this rather than 2 college educated adults? I mean there are parts that are great but the lame metaphors and over usage of them is throwing me off.

The metaphors are super strong in this book so far.

Lachlan is definitely not what I thought compared to Butcher and Blackbird or even the beginning of this one.

She is broken. I know that level of broken intimately. Can he help heal her? I hope so. No one should ever be that broken. Ever.
