I have never cried because a character died before in a book, especially when the character is quite new and only just introduced. However, Peavey changed that😢.

I don't know why, but I just like this so much, despite that nothing has really happened yet.

Dreadfully slow story, but a beautiful story nonetheless.

For a daughter of Athena, Annabeth isn't that wise. Why go into that spa? What happened the last time you did something like that? Oh, yes, right, you were in an enchanted casino in Las Vegas, that cost you valuable time!

To my amazement, I am taking a liking towards Clarisse.

I didn't plan on reading the second part of the Percy Jackson series, but hear me out. I do not want to watch the film that was just launched on Netflix without having read the book first, so here I am, a noble reader on duty🫡.

It's ironic how a book about mental illness can be funnier than a romcom.

'Scar tissue has no character. It's not like skin. It doesn't show age or illness or pallor or tan. It has no pores, no hair, no wrinkles. It's like a slipcover. It shields and disguises what's beneath. That's why we grow it; we have something to hide.'

Wow.

Fine. I'm giving this book a second chance, because, honestly, I don't want this to be the first book I DNF, ever. So, Jenyfer, I suggest you suck it up, and Ordes, mind your own business and shut up. Nobody cares what you have to say.

I hate this book, I hate all these main characters, and most of all, I hate what this book fails to recognise: readers are not oblivious. Not as oblivious as Jenyfer dearest, anyway. I'm probably going to DNF this book, because honestly, it's just shit. But not your regular shit, it's dog shit, bull shit, and horse shit thrown together into a heap, longing to become something that it is NOT, and will NEVER be.

Of course the main character is suddenly a better fighter after a few minutes of training, than someone who has done it all his life. Yeah, right. Mhm. Totally. So is this just instinct, or what?
