One of the great things about reading the Harvard Classics is that they, in some sense, teach you to have good taste in books. Each time I open a new one I am sceptical of its goodness, of whether it deserves to be in the series. And then as I read I am taught another virtue a book can possess, and thus my taste is shaped.

Walter Martin has charity whenever possible, and unflinching doctrine otherwise, his irenic and stalwart posture is admirable.

What is grotesque is the small deviation from truth as each new generation takes up the originally Hegelian/kantian charge. Generation 1 of Critical Theory had one false presupposition, Generation 2 took the flaw of Generation 1 and added one more, so on and so forth.
