this is super weirdly written im not sure i like it 😐

i’ve been reading this book for three hundred years........and i turned the page and saw “chapter five” and almost cried.......

i’m finally a third of the way through...=\ note to self, in the future, choose books set in the middle east written by middle eastern people

yep! i knew it! it got preachy! in the worst kind of way!

most of this book i’ve held elloren in very little regard, kind of like a white person who cries, “but what about the IRISH?” like it’s a huge checkmate when people of color discuss racism. that being said, it took 56 percent of the book for her to grow on me so at least we’re getting somewhere.

sex in an abandoned building! sex in a cave! sex at the end of the world! this whole book feels like an intermission. i was really hoping the second would be better than the first but i'm mostly just annoyed

i just realized that most everyone described is super pale (even the guy with "dreads"). so i'm supposed to believe that this super advanced race of humanoid aliens who traverse planets via wormhole are all pale and waifish? i'm invested in the characters despite this but i'm kinda ticked about it.

she's pale, tall, blond, passes out a lot, and everyone's in love with her but me apparently

I find i will put up with a lot of trite sh*t to read a book about aliens
