I am NOT getting on with this book. Apart from a very witty description of someone trying to get to grips with the motor car in 1902 (I think), it is just too silly for me. I love good humour, but am less happy with farce... 🥺

Gave up on this long before I finished

A very 'dense' book, but quite fascinating. Reading it off the back of the Queen Elizabeth's Spymaster series...

Quite a weird story - finding the different time zones a little strange, byt hey, I'm still reading it!

Patchy... his writing skills have improved a bit... he still relies heavily on Tolkein... characters a bit patchy tho... won't be going out of my way to read the next one.

Quite liked these books - altho, thanks to my library's incomplete catalogue, I was a while into the third book before I realised there was a second! Luckily she writes in such a way that reading vol 2 was not obligatory. They are books I QUITE enjoyed, but they didn't rivet. The slightly alternative universe where 'small magics' work is intriguing, but not intriguing enough that I'll read book two!

Not sure about this one... it's not really grabbing me so far. I'll stick with it a little longer but.............

Finally finished - but still found it tedious
