Chapter 5 — documenting because Libby is about to take this book from moi :(

Absolutely poignant. I didn’t fully realize the depth of suffering the Chinese endured during WWII.

History isn’t my strong area of knowledge so reading this book really helped me learn more about the history building up to WWII. What Japanese soldiers to Chinese people especially women and children — heartbreaking and unspeakable. Library is about to take this book from me :(

So utterly trippy. It gives me a different perspective on time travel.

Got to the part where it truly shows how powerful the magical books are… how it can alter your “very being”. Chills.

For anyone that enjoys reading fantasy books, this is an AWESOME book that has an unique storyline. It was a bit overwhelming in the beginning with a lot of POVs but it gets better.
